Transparent USB Keyboard

A black USB keyboard adapter can be used to connect a number of different devices to a user’s computer. USB, or Universal Serial Bus. is the standard technology that is used to connect computing devices. While it is most commonly used with personal computers, the use of this technology has expanded to PDAs, smartphones, video game systems, and even to simply provide power to some devices. The majority of new computers will have multiple USB ports for connecting the following potential devices: digital cameras, media players, external storage devices, USB midi keyboard, flash drives, mice, printers, keyboards, and many others. The current accepted format is USB 2.0, but devices have been released that utilize the newest USB 3.0 technology. This new version promises a drastic increase in speed as well as better power management features.

One of the most common applications of USB technology is as a keyboard with USB attachment. For several years, PS2 connections were widely used for keyboards, but the speed and universal nature of USB has led to many switches of keyboard to USB connections instead of the slower PS2. A keyboard with USB connection can be found in many forms, with the latest models being wireless. These types of keyboards transmit data from the devices to a receiving unit that connects to the computer at a USB port. Because of the many uses of USB, keyboard to USB cables can be found for very cheap prices. However, it is important that a user make sure they know whether they are getting USB 1.0 or USB 2.0 as there can be some complications with certain devices.

Whether a person is using a USB midi keyboard or a USB printer, there are certain advantages that are inherent to the technology. Firstly, there is a difference in speed. Standard serial cables transfer data at a lower rate, meaning that productivity is enhanced when a user chooses to attach devices by USB. Also, because the technology allows power to be transferred, less outlet plugs are needed to power a normal workstation. The power needed to support the device is transferred through the USB connection. Another advantage is that USB is universal to all types of computers, therefor a user does not need to carry many special adapters to make sure devices are compatible with new computers.

Although there are not many disadvantages to using USB technology, the most commonly cited criticism is the limit of cable size. Because of a slight delay (1500 nanoseconds), cables can measure no more than five meters. If they are longer than this distance, the host commands are not received by the device and data transfer is impossible. While there are many colors and sizes, the black USB keyboard adapter is preferred by the majority of users.
